Loeb unloads West Village manse

March 30, 2009

Dan Loeb's swanky West Village townhouse - a classic brick exterior that hides an ultra modernist interior - has finally sold after nearly 17 months on the market. The home, at 7 MacDougal Alley, was taken by Gordon Veneklasen, a partner in the Michael Werner art galleries, for $5.5 million, a big drop from Loeb's initial asking price of $7.85 million. The 9-room 4,000-square-foot former carriage house features radiant heated floors, wine cellar and roofdeck.
