Mets anyone?

May 01, 2009

Bernie Madoff's season tickets to the New York Mets are being auctioned on eBay as part of the fundraising efforts of lawyers representing victims of his enormous Ponzi scheme. The tickets, which are directly behind home plate at the team's new Citi Field stadium in Queens, have a face value of roughly $61,000. To raise as much money as possible, the tickets are being auctioned off on a game-by-game basis. The first pair, for the team's first home game, on April 13, sold for $7,500 to a father and son from upstate New York.
