George Soros
There was no shortage of glitz or celebrity at this spring's Robin Hood Foundation fundraiser, the power confab organized by Paul Tudor Jones to raise money for New York City's poor. This year's dinner for 3,200, held on May 12 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, featured master of ceremonies Jon Stewart with music by the Black Eyed Peas and Aretha Franklin. Other celebrities in attendance included Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Harvey Weinstein, Anne Hathaway and Michael J. Fox. As for hedge fund managers, the very biggest guns were out as well, including Dan Och, Steve Cohen and George Soros (the latter pledging $50 million).
