A former UBS banker has launched an alternative energy advisory firm in New York, Bloomberg reports. Jeffrey McDermott, along with former Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley bankers, has started Greentech Capital Advisors.
The firm will assist alternative energy companies in raising money through private placements and advise them on issues such as the government’s investment tax credit. According to McDermott, many of these firms require a later round of private equity and mezzanine finance.
