Dan Och saves White Plains summer jobs

October 01, 2009

Sometimes, there is a cure for the summertime blues.

Dan Och, founder of Och-Ziff Capital Management Group, saved summer jobs for 30 high school students in White Plains, N.Y., by personally filling a $50,000 hole in the funding of the White Plains Youth Bureau. The bureau used the money to fund its Summer Career Academy, which had been curtailed due to budget cuts. Och’s donation helped provide summer jobs at $200 a week that involved students in activities to benefit the city.
