Third Point sets up trust for late colleague’s children

Dan Loeb’s firm has established a trust in memory of Adam Sackett and is seeking donations to provide educational support for his two young children. Here's how you can give to the Sackett Children’s Trust.

Third Point, the activist hedge fund firm led by Dan Loeb, has established a trust in memory of Adam Sackett, its co-head of trading, and is seeking donations to provide educational support for his two young children. Sackett died suddenly last Wednesday night, succumbing to a bacterial infection.

In a letter, Loeb described Sackett as “our brilliant, kind, funny, and endlessly giving colleague and friend of more than five years.” Sackett, who was 35 years old, leaves behind his wife Stacy and two children: Carly, two-and-a-half, and Ryan, nine months.

Money raised by the Sackett Children’s Trust will be put toward Carly and Ryan’s education. Contributions can be addressed to Third Point CFO Mendy Haas at 390 Park Avenue, 18th Floor, New York, NY 10022. Checks should be made out to Sackett Children’s Trust.
