Hans Haywood, a former emerging markets manager at defunct Sailfish Capital Partners, has launched an emerging markets macro fund at Panda Global Advisors, a firm he recently founded with former colleagues from Credit Suisse. The Panda Global Master Fund launched April 1 with $20 million and expects to raise an additional $50 million by June, with a target of $100 million by yearend. Haywood and partners Mark Landis and Jason Rok met at Credit Suisse, where they all worked between 1997 and 2004. Before Panda, Haywood managed a $460 million emerging markets strategy at Sailfish Capital Partners. Landis was the head of marketing at Touradji Capital Management, where he helped grow the commodity shop from $2.5 billion to $3.4 billion.
