Marathon's Rabinowitz raises $500K for pediatric care

The R Baby Foundation, started by Marathon Asset Management COO Andrew Rabinowitz and his wife, Phyllis, raised $500,000 at its second annual Mother's Day Run/Walk on May 9 to raise money for pediatric emergency care for infants.

Over 9,200 people participated in the event. Since its inception in 2006, the foundation has raised $3.75 million.

Andrew and Phyllis founded the foundation after their daughter, Rebecca Ava, died of a viral infection at nine days old after being misdiagnosed in a hospital emergency room. The organization funds grant programs dedicated to improving the quality of care infants are given in emergency situations.
