The National Basketball Association fined former Raptor hedge fund manager Jim Pallotta $100,000 for mouthing off to Commissioner David Stern during game three of the NBA finals in June. Pallotta, a Boston Celtics co-owner, complained to Stern about officiating following a 91-84 loss to arch-rival Los Angeles, according to the Wall Street Journal. It could be worse. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was fined $250,000 for going onto the court during the 2006 finals in order to make his case directly to the referee.
